Authentication/Authorization System Overview

• Our own home grown Apache module
  • Passes a string of collections, authorized to user, as an environment variable (AUTHZD_COLL), to the middleware/CGI program
• Lacking this system or another sophisticated system, the AUTHZD_COLL environment variable can be set in a virtual host block in the Apache httpd.conf configuration file
